Learn to write thousands of kanji and read fluently in Japanese faster than Heisig himself. You choose the vocabulary lists, you set the pace, and Skritter handles the rest a writing coach in the palm ...

I don t understand why synchronisation is so bad on the website I have 22 reviews while on the app 99 and even after refreshing local data nothing changes please fix it because this app is probably the best on the app store to learn kanji but it needs a refinement After that I ll definitely give it 5 stars             Eugenio Franzoso
excellent app I have been struggling to learn kanji ever since I started studying Japanese but with this app it became so much easier and got to learn over 60 kanji in 1 week something I couldn t do in over 3 years                     Eduardo Serrano
I enjoy doing Skritter on both Japanese and Chinese However I have one problem with this app When writing hiragana you have to be ridiculously precise to register a single stroke This really infuriated me regardless of how precise I was the stroke did not register I really hope you fix this on the app Thank you                 CaffinatedAnimator
need the ability to filter out kanji I already know or else it s no help as intermediate looking for new study app             Kenneth Goad
good for learning and fun highly recommended                     Sean Ryan
recently changed price too expensive now         Jon Minto
It s definitely interesting Things I like Utilizing my Samsung Note 5 to its fullest with the stylus 2 The vast amount of words Things I d like added or changed I hate self reporting on apps I d prefer if the app could grade you itself especially for a paid subscription app If it s free then I get it 2 Then there s the very strange way of adding words I d prefer something less reliant upon me deciding to add new words at what point             SW G
Good concept but the most unituitive app I ve seen I still have no idea how to use it properly I just want to practice writing some characters I ve added Katakana and Hiragana When I choose Study it asks me to select a number of words to add and then it does nothing What Why     Octavian Tuchila
Unable to download this app onto my phone An error occurred Tried to download the Skritter Chinese app too but that also failed Other apps seem to download and update fine so I think it may be something to do with the developer     Yu Yeen Fung
Great learning experience and the best app for kanji study Wish I had more control over my study list though I took a 3 month break from studying and now I have a study list 500 long with no way to reset it                     Ryan Tetlow
Can t remove added lists and is simply a quiz with no end Used it for Chinese before and it seemed much better Now just a quiz     A Google user
Quite expensive but very useful for me Repeating and drawing is a key for better kanji learning                     Vitaliy Kazarov
Great improvements to Skritter Japanese Thanks for the great work on it                     Greg Suhr
Most awesome writing and vocabulary builder used it for Chinese for years now starting to play with Japanese                     Glen Nilsen
No trials     A Google user
The app is way larger than most which is annoying when you have limited space Plus it never tells you when your reviews are done it just makes you do the same stuff on endless repeat I got a month free trial by tweeting at the app people but I wouldn t recommend this app It s still got some work to do         Alex Furukawa
It won t let me creat an account It keeps saying unknown error     onye enomate
Skritter is a fantastic service that I have used for years to help learn Japanese I used to use their web app to study but now mostly use the iOS app on an ancient iPod Touch This Android app is great because it allows writing kana as well as kanji the iOS app does not support kana Unfortunately though the Android app is missing some very important features that are present on every other platform I ve used Skritter on such as indicating how due overdue an item is and when it was last studied and anything but the most basic interactions with vocabulary lists I still use Skritter every day and I can t wait to be able to retire my iPod Touch only used for Skritter anymore and only need this Android app for practice once it has been improved enough             Charles Macanka
I can only see this working for studying if you have at least basic knowledge Im brand new to Japanese and I don t know if it s me or the app but it hasn t really helped me learn anything to start with HELP         It won t tell me any definitions Blair Kerbo
Very expensive and clunky system for adding words plus it keeps hammering me with words I know already not easy to customise lists I just want to add JLPT N3 kanji the stuff I need to learn I m good with computers ran an elearning consultancy and I found the UI very clunky For this money I d expect a smoother experience Going back to paper         Richard Pinner
It s an OK app but not worth usd14 99 a month its a saturated market and I would be curious to know how many subscribers are coming in at this price point It s okay but I won t pay that price Something like this is more suitable to a one off payment not subscription             Good app but unrealistic pricing andrew woodman
I ve used just about every language related app in studying Japanese and for written language Skritter is far and away the best I ve used I just renewed my six month subscription for the third or fourth time and I m glad to pay the price Highly recommended                     The best David R Munson
I can see the benefit but without a more structured and clear usage of SRS and a list system that relies on users to input it seems a bit rich for my taste A more conscientious learning tool would use the various text books as inspiration and create it s own sequence of learning     - Dubois
Seems to have improved a lot since I last used it Managed to actually have a proper trial run since I got a new phone The app itself is great but still very expensive and I still stand by what I said about being able to get the same functionality on Anki while paying nothing There are Anki decks that do basically the exact same thing as Skritter so I see no reason to pay for this If the app were much cheaper I would consider it Skritter is unique in its features just not enough to be worth this much                 Improved Paris Williams
Great app but the required subscription is too expensive I feel like you should offer a free version and a premium version with more features rather than locking all functionality after the free trail Uninstalling         Matt Mendoza
I actually use Skritter mainly for vocab building rather than writing Japanese and Chinese It s clearly a product of language educator and computer science expertise which stands in contrast to the other major flashcards apps out there I m looking at you Anki Cerego even Quizlet your algorithms can only get you so far Well worth paying for And no ads also worth paying for Thanks                     Maggie Dunlop
I was hesitant to try this app due to the monthly subscription fee but I can say that it is absolutely worth every dime I ve been studying every day and I have learned a lot I ve also been able to recognize and break bad habits that I had developed during my studies                     Amazing Cenitoria Melton
I don t use Skritter for vocabulary so I can t comment on that but I do use it for learning kanji and it s fantastic I can use it efficiently wherever I am preferably at home with a tablet It makes the learning process so much faster for me nothing obstructs my progress and everything is made incredibly easy for me Since kanji and vocabulary are separate I do wish they had a separate cheaper tier for only kanji but I can t complain because doing kanji in Skritter is relatively painless                     Streamlines the kanji learning process Joshua Johnson
Worth every penny It not only shows you how to write in Japanese but teaches you the stroke order too I am studying to be a translator and I highly recommend this app to anyone with a passion for the Japanese language                     The best Japanese vocabulary and writing app Mikumi
Been using skritter for years now and now that we ve got mobile support for japanese kanji I can study wherever I go                     Best way to study Beau Brooks
I really love it great way to study and I feel like I have made huge progress in just a few days I would give 5 but for the cost per month I would expect less bugs                 Wonderful app Maisy Hatchard
Wish it had a dictionary too though But there are other apps that do that and this works brilliantly for just learning the kanji                     Best kanji learning option Chris Jaech
The best resource I ve found to learn kanji Practice writing without using paper It s also great for learning vocabulary compounds                     Love it Jathon Thompson
I ve been using Skritter for years and it has helped me to learn 1000s of Kanji I highly recommend it to anyone who s serious about learning Japanese                     Kerry Heath
