The Amazon Fire TV Remote App is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 1.0.4.01 has been released on 2014-11-18. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. You d think such a big company would put a bit more effort into their app It s unresponsive or very slow to respond It sometimes won t pick up connection to my firestick while picking up connection to another which isn t even on I could literally be waiting for an hour or so constantly opening and closing the app turning WiFi on and off even restarting my phone just to get it to work And even then the chances of it working are pretty slim         Harley Taylor

Can we get rid of the reconnecting every single time I open the app Even while it s still in my app switcher it will say reconnect every time it s opened Why can t you just keep a constant connection while it runs in the background Or at least give the option to This app is something I use a lot and having to wait for it to reconnect every time even if only for a second really ruins my flow and ruins the experience             Liam McLeod

Great app Really helps as we can all never find the remote control Although it does have it s bugs Annoyingly this bug has been in it for numerous versions now Frequently have to select which Fire stick I only have one and it doesnt work even though connects fine Have to come out of the app not close it and then go back in it then works fine Overall though still happy with it and the typing function is a massive help when Alexa voice input is blocked in none Amazon apps                 Christopher Bennett

This app constantly disconnects no matter the network I have tested it in at least 5 different locations all with different networks and various hardware The app also immediately disconnects when a user opens another application or if the phone goes to sleep It also does this at random If this issue were fixed it would be a great application as it can remotely take the user to specific applications or the settings menu via the main screen I hope Amazon fixes these issues ASAP         Spencer Ware

All I wanted was some way to control my fire stick after the remote stopped working for the hundredth time Naively I was expecting something that looks like the remote you know a circle control in the middle or whatever instead you get this blank square and however you press it nothing happens or if something does happen it s random and bears no relation to where you passed the button It s so stupid How hard is it to design a simple remote that runs on your phone         David Poulet

Works well There are connection issues Sometimes will not discover firestick other times it might discover but not connect 2 stars because its supposed to be convenient but the fact that it won t stay connected with the phone screen off has no widget support and no option for floating window of remote These missing things and connection issues is something I would think amazon app development could handle but as of yet the app remains the same         Kevin Gatheright

Good but please add a Bluetooth connectivity feature so that we can use this app for resetting fire tv stick Currently the fire tv remote is required if a user wants to reset the device In case a user loses his her remote the will not be able to proceed at the point where user has to press the home button on the physical remote after a device reset         Akhil Cheeroth

Got the app to use as a remote for my mire stick but it is always telling me to sign in when I am already signed in and what is recast keeps telling me to sign I With that which I dont even have I just have fire stick On occasion it will hook up with the fire stick and work         Spartan Life

This app is absolutely fantastic to serve as a replacement remote for my Amazon Fire TV Stick Almost everything about this application is perfect and this review would be a five star review if you could use the app when setting up a firestick for example a second hand one with no remote and if we had volume controls in the app like you do on the remote too Both of these issues are very minor and shouldn t take away from the greatness of such an app                 XiMiX

It doesn t work very well Some apps the remote function doesn t work at all It disconnects from the Firestick every time my phone falls asleep and then requires 10 20 seconds to reconnect which means it takes awhile to pause and resume a show Also the swipe function to go up and down and right or left is backwards And sometimes it causes the Firestick to freeze and I have to unplug and reset it         Lisa Frankenberger

awful app can t find my fire stick on the nework half the time suffers from massive lag with each input gesture compared to the physical remote if you try to do anything else on you phone you have to go through all the recinnecting again even if you haven t closed the app so yourself a favour and never lose the remote that come with your firestick     Simon Reid
