If you are Android owner,you now can download TOSHIBA TV Remote for free from Google Play. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 3.0.0 has been released on 2014-11-25. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. To enable go to set up then preferences then network device set up then external control setup thrn device registration then new device detection and enable You can then use this app to connect and input 4 digit code D I am glad Now i just have to make sute i can find my phone lol Very kool
It wont even find my TV let alone connect with it Does not even begin to work
I have Toshiba L7333 Smart TV and apparently the mouse navigation option in the Toshiba Remote works but not so fluid The problem is responsiveness Mouse pointer is somehow not well synchronised with the mobile app so when i try to navigate it needs a lot of effort to point at something with the cursor It would be very nice if the developer can improve the mouse navigation functionality because the browsing experience will be much better and easier of course Overall the app is OK OK but needs improvements
Dont work on my TV The Hitachi app does on my Toshiba Crapolla
Dont forget you must install the Toshiba DBS app first This works well with my tv Handy if you accidentally misplace the normal remote Works
It works layout is great on the tablet but just about ok on the phone It just needs setting up

This app is somewhat difficult to set up I could see the non tech savvy struggling The interface is quite sluggish and unresponsive That being said it works as described all be it in a quite feature free format Nothing new is available that is not on the remote control provided at least I would have expected a qwerty keyboard to pop up when text needs to be inputted Needs work
Only does half the stuff the device does Blu ray player works with network but this app only gives buttons to play discs Half a job at best Limited functionality and ugly

To be fair it was a pretty handy app but could have done with more buttons on each screen and less screens imo That was of course until it updated Just crashes my i9000 whenever the tv is selected Update killed it
When I start the app and try to connect to my Toshiba Tv appears a connection error and quits
I agree it is basically useless without the use of the android keyboard If you are using it for a backup for a lost remote then I guess it has some value Not worth the setup time Needs a Keyboard

Ok so Ive got both apps downloaded For some reason when I open the remote app it just brings me back to the play store rather than opening Any ideas
This app works from time to time The design is very poor but so is the original and physical remote The app is useful but slow I need to mention that I blame my cheap TV as well Mostly useful

Tested and get it worked on tab 2 101 and HTC one x How to get it to work ON YOUR TV GO TO NETWORK DEVICE SETUPEXTERNAL DEVICE SETUP AND ENTER YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD After that go to Toshiba app on your android device and you will see it on the list If you entered wrong password on your phonego to device registration and remove current tvgo back to main screen and you will be prompt to enter password again Thanks It works works works
Very poorly designed app Looks terrible not clear at all what most of it is supposed to do and the bits that are clear are less useful than normal remote Really this is the best you can do

Why bother providing a mouse pad function but no android keyboard support Toshiba developers I despair for you Cursoring around a TV based keyboard is nobodys idea of a fun experience Pointless without android keyboard support

YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE TOSHIBA DB APP FIRST This app only works if you have the remote as you need to choose a username and password via the remote You also need to use the remote to turn on the blu ray or tv then you can use the app to switch it off again The app works alongside the remote but doesnt offer anymore functionality as you cant use the android keyboard Functional but needs polish

To be fair as a basic TV remote with a touchpad function for a Toshiba SmartTV Web browser its fine but where this app fails miserably is with the omission of a keyboard To type up a URL youll be left pressing the arrow buttons to move the cursor over a non qwerty keyboard on the TV screen making it painfully slow and just not worth the effort Hopefully an update for this nearly 3 year old app will drag it in line with the capabilities of the latest Toshiba SmartTVs app tested on Toshiba 47l6453db No keyboard

No problems on phone or tablet and just does what the remote does Has gestures which seem useless Not 5 stars because they missed a trick not allowing you to use the Android keyboard in place if the TVs software keyboard for text entry It just works
As mentioned numerous times in previous reviews no point without keyboard doesnt even fully replicate all keys of the remote and key presses dont always register all in all you may as well use the original cheap and nasty remote Navigating the on screen keyboard is a nightmare however on the positive side its free Add a keyboard and this app will average 5 stars Pretty but pointless
