Get the latest local news for Des Moines with the Des Moines Register s Android app. A subscription to the Des Moines Register is required and includes access to this app, online, mobile web site, ...
App is extremely buggy Makes it tedious to read the news App presents an error message when I attempt to sign in so despite paying for the Register there are still ads and it limits how many articles can be viewed If you tap on an image to make it bigger when you go back it takes you to the top of the article and you have to find your place again Sometimes when the app is opened it fails to load anything and must be force closed to fix Problems have persisted through multiple updates A Google user
Couldnt locate a link to make a direct complaint to the paper which is a problem in itself App design has annoyed me a number of times I read the NYTimes and Washington Post on apps so I know a good experience is possible Register Their links aren t always correct Difficult to find an article that s in the paper version of the paper Simply cumbersome Deb Copeland

It seems like only a handful of news stories are added each day this app definitely does not give you access to the whole paper Plus you are still subjected to ads asking you to subscribe to the Register even if you already do and to download the official app ended though that s what you are using in the first place That being said the DMR website is no different this app just puts it in mobile form A Google user

So far it s a decently put together app articles are fine but I don t like how there are ads with my paid subscription It also refreshes everytime I go out of the app which is annoying when I m reading an article and have to track down where I was and where I left off Samuel Claussen

I have the app set to only alert to breaking news Apparently their definition of breaking news means at least 4 alerts every day and for things that certainly don t require alerts like high school football games just getting underway I ll try turning off all alerts but if this continues I will uninstall Constantly gives news alerts Melanie Rogotzke
No way to manage account Circular loop screens that lead back to change profile screen Useless except for reading abbreviated articles with a magnifying glass Worst app I ve ever dealt with Kathy Pyle
