The LIFX is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new LIFX app version 1.5 has been updated on 2014-02-13. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. The app works occasionally Over half of the colors in the pallet to create a new scene are duplicates of other colors The scenes will only display solid colors half of the time Custom scenes don t load I have used this app across multiple devices spanning various versions of Android The issues prevail on all platforms I have tested this on For the amount of money I spent on this I am highly dissatisfied with the product     Joseph Gilhooly

UPDATE For people having trouble connecting make sure you have any secure wifi settings VPN settings switched off before you try to connect You can set them back on after but it would not connect when I had them on Also after resetting the bulbs turn them off recconnect to your WIFI network then turn the bulbs on Then try to connect For some reason mine would not connect if the bulbs were the first established connection Hope this helps                     Molly Gaylor

Widgets do not work app is alright but could be more intuitive to be able to view a log of when and why lights perform different actions would be great Day and Dusk settings could also be improved by allowing the user to edit the line of the graph rather than the line being the result of inputting brightness and Kelvin at only 4 specified times Probably allowing smoothing transitions             Joshua Thiessen

This whole set up with the light is probably my worst experience with similar products Took forever to connect it to the wifi and when bulbs are relocated it doesn t connect back to the network even if it was closer to the router The app design for grouping the lights are also awful I am about to return the lights now     vick hung

Works great until power goes out or internet connection drops even for a second Each time I have to do a complete nightmare set up of recycling router and light opening u0026 closing sites entering passwords then all over again when none of that works the 1st 4 times until it finally works the 5th time or 3rd or 7th whatever even though I did it the same way as every other time Very aggravating but when it works it s marvelous I only have 1 will probably never have more         Jennifer 918

worked flawlessly for a couple days after that it wouldn t change the brightness unless the colour was updated and even then it would change colours and brightness at random and would often go offline I tried all of the steps that the support page redirects you to and even sent an email over 2 weeks ago and haven t heard a word back disappointing as there is great potential in this line of products     Alex Pincham

The BUGGIEST app in the world Apparently it doesn t like my phone a Samsung Galaxy S9 or my network It takes me sometimes over 30 to 45 minutes to FIGHT to get this to work I hate to tell the folks at LIFX this but whoever coded your app needs to go back to coding school It flat out SUCKS After resetting the light tried this too connecting my light to my network results in the spinning circle that goes on and on for several minutes and finally the app times out and reboots my phone Why Seriously your app SUCK but the light is awesome when it works Is there a way to control the light other than smartphone like with windows macOS or linux The smartphone app needs to be rewritten from the ground up     DJ Penguino

The lights have so much potential but the app is disappointing The only things you can reliably do are to turn the light on and off or set an alarm The widgets don t work and turning scenes on and off is unreliable inconsistent Such a shame         Lucy Dalton

Pros Easy control of individual lights and colors Lights usually respond well once they are added to your network Ability to Save color schemes for later Excellent integration with Google Home and IFTTT Con The LIFX widget ranges from very laggy to not responsive at all widget status is usually wrong for some lights Adding a new bulb is laden with unpredictable problems Be ready to take some time to retry until it connects Sometimes FW updates fail and need to be retried                 M Blaylock

Just awful Took several minutes nearly 10 to connect to bulb then said it was connecting again Had to force close app several times to get bulb to show up Then tried to set up day dusk settings and afterwards was presented with a blank screen with just plus and settings in top corner     Ben Cole

I use Day u0026 Dusk mode to wake me up in the day however my light keeps auto dimming at night as a result but there doesn t seem to be an option to disable this auto dimming at night It s quite annoying since I have to keep turning off and then on my light to restore it to full brightness since I do computer work at night too The brightness control seems to be capped at the auto dimmed maximum if I don t turn my light off on again Please fix Thanks             Stef C

A smart light is only as smart as its software and LIFX software is frustratingly dumb There are so many useless and gimmicky themes to choose from and yet there isnt even a breathing mode Also the parameters to choose from are worthless and half the time dont even work I thought maybe it had to do with the lights connection to the wifi but good signal or bad signal its just as bad On top of that theres no consistency in the gradient of the color wheel Like an idiot I bought two     Connor Siladi

Light is good app is bad Main screen has a bunch of ugly links to integrations that come across like ads even if they aren t exactly Feels less like using an app and more like using a very clunky glitchy web browser e g the tab marker doesn t update on some screens Lights react instantly to toggles in the app however the app takes several seconds to discover lights every time when launched not sure if this is fixable though         Jonathan Piper

I love these lights but this app is horrible It used to work fine until I added my 5th light I added 2 more lights on top of that and since the app is bugging all the time and I m not the only person with this issue LiFX please pat attention to what your customers say if you want to keep doing business     Breakitoff 88

good physical product i havent had any issues with the product that werent my own fault however the app its self is so so buggy when i first got them two years ago it was a breeze to get them connected to the wifi and the app ran smoothly the app gradually became bogged down with each update and the holiday themes grew more and more scarce i love the holiday themes and i love the custom themes but the app needs some serious fixing             joey zluticky

The app has serious difficulties connecting the bulbs to android devices This coupled with non responsive customer service no phone number and zero to help in troubleshooting the issue makes it a 2 star app at best Fix your app         Jeff Lantigua

Rubbish Have used other WiFi bulbs no issues this one I went to setup entered details app went black and every time I close and open it black app with no options to do anything Should have stuck to the cheap Chinese ones that worked fine     Sam Douglas

app works perfect make sure it s on your 2 4ghz wifi and you ll have zero issues works very easily with Google assistant it took me about 15 minutes to set up four bulb we still need switches the lifx I d also like my lights to have a default setting of my choosing when I say certain catch phrases or commands to Google having to adjust brightness and color gets annoying                     Danny Stackpoole

Couldn t set up lights on the app would say connect ligjt as im connected to the light Got on my iPad to set them up and it worked flawlessly Only 2 stars because I can still at least toggle the lights oj the app here Glad I had an iOS device or I d be unable to connect my stuff         Chuck Moore

So easy and powerful all the features you re likely to need but no extra junk Love the day and dusk globes and how easily they can manually or automatically adjust brightness and tone temperature Exactly what I wanted to work on improving my sleep rhythns                     Paul Williams

SMART WATCH CONTROL Brilliant app and brilliant bulb I ve had my original one since 2013 when LiFX supplied the lighting company I worked for some free samples and still works like a amazingly to this very day I would absolutely love to be able to control my lighting system from my galaxy watch Hint Hint                     Dean Lamb

Spot on I would like to see in future a LIFX scenes feature like there is on the Microsoft store called LIFX Dynamic Obviously this app has effects feature like flickering etc but it would be much better to have a load of scenes like the volcano scene or fireplace etc                     john creed

I have four z strips and they are constantly losing wifi connection so I have to unplug and try to reset Kind of defeats the purpose No issues with all my other smart bulbs sockets and thermostat from other manufacturers Poor     Dave Pallister

LIFX Mini has stopped access to any hue below 1500k The three lowest bars on the hue ring are now all the same hue Very annoying as it can t function as a night light now because 1500k is too bright Not impressed         Glen Betts

Does not work with my Google Pixel 3 Running Android Q Beta The light appears on my phone s list of Wi Fi networks but refuses to appear on the list inside the app I tried it with an HTC 10 and it worked absolutely fine     Harry Atkin

My White A19 and Dusk A19 bulbs were working amazing since the update in December 2018 but ever since about a week ago September 2019 they only work locally I can control them fairly ok inside my home but as soon as my phone is off the wifi they appear to be disconnected My girlfriend is home at the sametime and her phone controls them so I know it has to be a cloud issue My Google Home account sees maybe one bulb here and there but mostly keeps failing             Jeremy Daniele

What is going on with this app i made an lifx account and i can only login fron my pc if i try to login from the app it will always say wrong password even if i have quadrouple checked and lemme tell ya it is always the right password and the app wont let me login saying its the wrong one but i can login from pc normally         Barbeque chicken

lights work great I had some trouble getting it all setup but it was very streamlined I love not needing a hub like the philips equivalent requires for a extra 140 AUD would reccommend 4 5                 Joshua Tilbrook
